In the heart of Northern Yunnan province in southwest China, this is a beautiful place, like the ,it is near the borders of Burma and Tibet, is one of the last surviving ancient towns in China. Lijiang Ancient Town has survived intact for more than 1,000 years with over 4,000 native families living within its Core and Protected Areas. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, Lijiang?s Naxi people still preserve much of their native Dongba culture and deep linkage to nature. The town has a history going back more than 800 years and was once a confluence for trade along the old tea horse road. The Lijiang old town is famous for its orderly system of waterways and bridges. When you get there, you need a ,because everyone get there must go to the montain. The old town of Lijiang differs from other ancient Chinese cities in architecture, history and the culture of its traditional residents the Nakhi people, therefore people there are called 胖金哥 and 胖金妹 (male and female respectively). Lijiang old town (including Dayan, Baisha and Shuhe) was registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List on December 4, 1997.it is have a long history, like the . Since then, the local government has taken more responsibility for the development and protection of the old city. Lijiang's tourism also boomed, and travellers from around the world flooded in; although many locals fear that due to much of the development, the old town of Lijiang will lose its appeal.Recently, the government has started to develop additional "old city" sections adjacent to the site of the original old city. This is to accommodate the large number of tourists who walk the cobblestone streets (cars are not allowed in the old city), typically as part of package tours. Evenings in the old city can be particularly rowdy, not least due to the many outdoor bars, where boisterous groups of tourists try ousting other groups.Lijiang is also home to the Jade Water Village, a Dongba cultural centre and Lugu Lake, a lake which is a tourist attraction. The Nakhi people perform Dongjing Music, an ancient form of Taoist ritual music, in Lijiang. Lijiang is also the site of the Lijiang Snow Mountain Music Festival, which features Chinese rock music.you can go there oneday, or the is necessary for you to there to visit, because there have a cold montain,it is very beautiful, but if you want to go to there, you must take enough clothes, and you won?t get cold.but in the summer, there is hotter than other cities, and some people like to there and wear their ,because it can make them looks very cool. The festival was created by Chinese pop musician Cui Jian. The influx of tourists that followed the inscription of the Ancient town of Lijiang onto UNESCO's World Heritage list has had dramatic effects. Many of the former inhabitants of the ancient city have had to move away due to rising costs of housing and food items, only to be replaced by tourist establishment. The growth of these tourism businesses is largely uncontrolled Lijiang Ancient Town, one of the few remaining authentic ancient towns in China, was recognized as being of outstanding universal value in 1997 when it was granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status. However, this cultural treasure has over the years suffered from neglect and the effects of uncontrolled development, spurring GHF to implement a project to arrest these negative impacts and provide the help needed to preserve the town. In the old towm, the people can make the handbags by theirselves, not like the ,but it is also beautiful, maybe you will like it very much.In partnership with Lijiang Ancient Town Management Committee, UNESCO World Heritage Centre Asia Pacific and Shanghai TongJi University?s Urban Planning and Design Institute, GHF has provided a new vision through Lijiang?s first Master Conservation and Site Management Plan and an innovative Preservation Incentive Fund to provide subsidies for low-income households to help retain the native Naxi families that make this living ancient town so priceless. But there also have some children can?t go to school, they are so poor, can?t afford,,when you wear a pair of the ,they will fell strange, they don?t have enough money to buy a shoes, also like that.By the end of the project, nearly 200 ancient residences had been authentically restored, and the project was honored with the UNESCO Asia Pacific Heritage Award of Merit. In the Award of Merit, the UNESCO panel of experts commented that ?the partnership between the residents, management authorities, external conservation experts and donors allows for a broad based and participatory conservation approach within the framework of the overall World Heritage site management plan and worthy of being populated to the other world Heritage sites.and we hope everything become more and more better.
